- The organ at Saint Mary's Episcopal Church, Dalkeith, was built in 1846 by David Hamilton. In 1891, Charles and Frederick Hamilton worked on the instrument. It has been restored twice, in 1974 and 1997, by Rushworth & Dreaper, the latter time with support from the Heritage Lottery Fund.
- The instrument is preserved virtually original. In 1891 a hydraulic water motor was installed for the wind supply and a Clarionet 8' was fitted to the Choir Organ in place of the Vox Humana. The water motor is still in operation and is the only one of its kind in Scotland. The wind pressure is low and the sound of the organ is remarkably chamber music. The lowest octave of the Swell Organ speaks in the Great Organ.
