  • In the years 1751-1753 Georg Friedrich Schmahl built an organ for the Martinskirche in Langenau. It was an organ with sixteen or eighteen stops and was located on the second (upper) gallery of the church. In 1892 the organ was in an unplayable condition. It was decided to have it replaced by a new organ. In 1905 a contract was concluded with the company Gebr. Link for the construction of a new instrument, which would preserve Schmahl's facade. The church building was also extensively restored in the same year. The upper gallery was demolished. The organ was therefore placed on the lower gallery when it was reinstalled. Link's new organ had 31 stops, divided over two manuals and a pedal. The instrument was delivered in early 1907.
  • In 1964-1966 the organ was rebuilt by the Link company according to plans by Helmut Bornefeld. Some of the old pipework was reused after re-voicing, as were the cone chests and Schmahl's case. To create more space, both midfields of the facade have been widened. The organ was re-dedicated on September 22, 1966 with a concert, in which advisor Helmut Bornefeld participated as organist.
  • The interior of Link was demolished in 2013. A new organ has been built by Orgelbau Lenter. Schmahl's front has been restored and repainted in a green color. The pipework of four ranks and two cone chests are from 1907 by Link. One cone chest was used for the Schwellwerk, the other for the Großpedal. The organ was inaugurated on November 10, 2013 during a festive church service.
