Friedrich Friesche, third generation, built a beautiful organ in 1869 for the Paulskirche in Schwerin. In 1932-1934 the action was partly made pneumatic during a renovation by Marcus Runge. The organ survived the war without major damage. In the years 1972-1974 the instrument was modified and fitted with a mechanical console. A restoration by Kristian Wegscheider in the years 1999-2002 brought it back to its original state.
