- Johann Niklas Cahman built a new organ for the newly built cathedral of Härnösand in 1730/1731. The instrument had two manuals and a pedal with 23 stops. The church building was replaced by the current one in 1846. The organ has been transferred to the new church. The work was carried out by Johan Gustaf Ek, who placed Cahman's original positive (Ryggpositiv) as a crown work.
- In 1886 Åkerman & Lund completed a new romantic organ in the old cases. The old front pipes were no longer connected. The organ was examined on October 23, 1886. In the years 1925-1926, the Setterquist company converted the organ. They realized a mechanical-pneumatic instrument with Roosevelt chest and with a Barker machine for the first manual. In 1946 the organ was restored by the firm Åkerman & Lund, whereby the disposition was adapted to a more baroque character.
- The organ was replaced in 1975 by the current one, a four-manual organ from the Bruno Christensen firm. Some registers (from the front) and the organ case from 1731 have been reused. The crown positive has been re-installed as a Rygpositiv.
