- The oldest organ in Belgium is in the Sint Germanuskerk in Tienen. The organ case dates from 1493, while the interior was built by Jan Dekens in 1671. In 1870, the company Charles Anneessens carried out a major renovation. The organ was modernized in a romantic style. In 1891 it was moved by the Stevens firm within the church to a new organ gallery on the west side of the church.
- The instrument was restored in two phases by the Draps company, in 1988 and in 2005. Antoon Fauconnier was the consultant during the work. In 2005 the organ was expanded with an independent pedal, placed in a separate pedal case behind the organ. The instrument was inaugurated on September 8, 2005, with a concert by Stanislas Deriemaeker.
