Built by: Peter Henrich Varenholt (1707)
In 1707 a new organ was built in the Stiftskerk of the Benedictine monastery in Obermarsberg with one manual and attached pedal. It had twelve registers and was built with a spring chest. The case of the positive was empty. Since 1803 the monastery has been closed and the church is in use as a parish church, dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul. The organ, which is probably a work of Peter Varenholt, was rebuilt in 1869. Hinrich Klausing is also referred to as the builder. Heinrich Schulte placed a second manual as Unterwerk behind the old positive prospect. Behind the Hauptwerk he installed a small pedal work. The Hauptwerk got a new slider chest. After 1900 the disposition was adapted to a more romantic style. During a restoration by Franz Breil in 1973, the instrument was returned to its 1869 condition with some extensions.
