- In 1872 bouwde Aristide Cavaillé-Coll een orgel voor de abdijkerk in Paisley. De bouw van het orgel werd gefinancierd door Thomas Coats. Robert Lorimer ontwierp de orgelkas Het instrument is in 1902 verplaatst en uitgebreid door Norman & Beard. In 1928 bouwde de firma Hill, Norman & Beard het orgel om. J.W. Walker & Sons reconstrueerden het oorspronkelijke orgel gedeeltelijk, en breidden het uit in 1968. Ralph Downes was adviseur bij deze operatie. Op 15 december 1968 werd het orgel weer in gebruik genomen met een concert door George McPhee, organist van de abdij.
- In 2009 voerde de firma Harrison & Harrison een restauratie uit. Hierbij is op het pedaal een Contre Bombarde 32' geplaatst en op Great en Pedal zijn tremulanten geplaatst.
