- In 1872 Aristide Cavaillé-Coll built an organ for the abbey church in Paisley. The construction of the organ was financed by Thomas Coats. Robert Lorimer designed the organ case. The instrument was moved and expanded in 1902 by Norman & Beard. In 1928 the firm of Hill, Norman & Beard converted the organ. J.W. Walker & Sons partially reconstructed the original organ, and extended it in 1968. Ralph Downes was a consultant on this operation. On December 15, 1968, the organ was put into use again with a concert by George McPhee, organist at the abbey.
- In 2009, the company Harrison & Harrison carried out a restoration. A Contre Bombarde 32' was placed on the pedal and tremulants were added to Great and Pedal.
