2010 Winterhalter Orgelbau  rebuild

  • In 1757 Johann Georg Hörterich built a beautiful organ in the Wieskirche. The organ case was painted in 1760 by Judas Thaddäus Ramis.
  • The instrument was converted into a pneumatic instrument by Willibald Siemann in 1927-1928. On October 17, 1928, the renewed organ was examined. In 1959 Gerhard Schmid built a new with mechanical slider chest in the historical cases. A part of the old pipework was reused. In 1980 Schmid added a Trompete 8' to the pedal.
  • The organ was rebuilt in 2010 by the Winterhalter company. It involved a radical rebuilding of the organ, under consultancy of Father Stefan Kling. The original 1757 console was preserved in 1959, and could be replaced, but extended to three manuals. On September 19, 2010 the instrument was dedicated with a concert by Gerhard Gnann.
