- The Gereformeerde Noorderkerk was built in Leeuwarden in 1888. Since 1964 the building has been used by the Gereformeerde Kerk (Vrijgemaakt). The organ was built in 1894 by Bakker & Timmenga. The front is a design of W.C. de Groot, the architect who also designed the church building, in Renaissance style. During the construction some stops were used, that were built by Albert van Gruisen from 1789. On May 12, 1895 the organ was inaugurated. Valckx & Van Kouteren radically rebuilt the organ in 1936. Among other things, the organ was set up in a different location in the church, as a result of which large parts of the organ case were lost. This was undone in 1972. A Salicet 4' was also added to the second manual in that year. The Bourdon 16' on the pedal is pneumatic.
- Because the church attendance declined, the church became too large. In 1998 the building was sold to the Fryske Akademy. It has been converted into a conference center and conference center with the name 'It Aljemint'. However, the Gereformeerde Kerk (Vrijgemaakt) did use the building for another couple of years. In 2004 a new church building was opened, called De Morgenster. The organ has been transferred to this new building.
