• The organ of the Oude Kerk in Ede was originally built for the Hervormde Kerk (Dutch Reformed Church) in Nieuwe Niedorp. The instrument has been built by the company L. van Dam & Zonen. It had two manuals and pulldown pedals. Van Dam did reserve space in the organ case for an independent pedal. Mayor W. v.d. Stok van Nieuwe Niedorp placed the first pipe in the organ on 21 October 1877.
  
• Due to dilapidation, the church in the village had to close its doors in 1962. The organ was dismantled and stored at the firm of Pels in Alkmaar. The church was demolished hereafter. The organ was restored by Pels & Van Leeuwen in 1967 and installed in Ede. Consultant was Feike Asma. The stoplist was altered and expanded and an independent pedal with nine stops was installed. On December 18, 1967, Wim van der Panne played the inauguration concert in Ede with works by Bach, Franck and Vierne.
  
• In 2020 a restoration started by the company Van Vulpen. Consultant was Cees van der Poel. The situation of 1967 was taken as the starting point for the restoration. The wind supply has been renovated following the example of Van Dam with a higher wind pressure. The voicing of the pipework installed in 1967 has been completely revised. Furthermore, the Principal 16' has been placed on the Hoofdwerk on the location of the Tertian, and the Quintadeen 16' (discant) of the Hoofdwerk has been reworked to a Bourdon 16'. The composition of the Mixtuur was also adjusted. It now has two positions: III-IV ranks with half-drawn register knob, and IV-VI ranks with fully drawn register knob. The organ case has been painted by the company De Jongh from Waardenburg.
  
• The restored organ was presented on Thursday, April 29 at 7.30 pm. Due to the corona crisis, this had to take place in a small group of people. It has been broadcast in picture and sound over the internet. Cees van der Poel and Adjan Smitsman (director organ builders Gebr. Van Vulpen) have officially handed over the instrument. Cees van der Poel, as well as the two organists of the church Leander van der Steen and René van Maastricht provided a short performance.
