Wolverhampton, United Kingdom (Staffordshire) - Darlington Street Methodist Church (The Grand Palace)
Municipal: Wolverhampton
Address: 24 School Street, WV1 4LF, Wolverhampton

Description nr.: 2078217.

Built by: Nicholson & Co. (1902)
The organ contains older material: Organ case and pipes from 1861 by Nicholson & Co.

  • In 1901-1902 the Nicholson firm built a new organ for Darlington Street Methodist Church in Wolverhampton. The enormous church building was nicknamed 'The Grand Palace'. Much material, including the organ case, was taken over from the organ in the previous church building, that had also been build by Nicholson in 1861.
  • Unfortunately the church closed in 2019. The building was then converted into a banquet hall, with much of the furniture removed, but the organ remained.
