- De Town Hall van Hobart is gebouwd in 1864-1866 volgens een ontwerp van Henry Hunter. In 1868 kreeg de firma Walker & Sons de opdracht voor de bouw van een concertorgel. Het is door Jesse Biggs opgebouwd en in gebruik genomen op 17 maart 1870. Het instrument had oorspronkelijk 29 registers op drie manualen en pedaal.
- Het orgel is twee keer omgebouwd en uitgebreid. De eerste keer in 1929 door George Fincham & Sons. Zij plaatsten een vrijstaande speeltafel, bouwde het orgel om naar pneumatiek en breidde het uit tot 44 registers. In 1966-1967 is de tractuur geëlectrificeerd door Walker & Sons, met wederom een nieuwe speeltafel en enkele uitbreidingen, waaronder een Positive Division die vanaf ieder manuaal bespeeld kan worden. Adviseurs bij deze werkzaamheden waren Arthur Jones en John Nicholls. Op 10 maart 1967 werd het orgel weer in gebruik genomen.
