- Fincham & Hobday bouwden in 1893 een orgel voor de Hobart Exhibition, die dat jaar van start ging. Na de tentoonstelling is het orgel in juni 1895 in de kathedraal geplaatst. Het orgel had een speciale type windladen, zonder slepen. Op 21 juli 1895 werd het orgel gewijd, bij welke gelegenheid het werd bespeeld door F.H. Stevens.
- In 1934 is het orgel gerenoveerd door Hill, Norman & Beard en in 1957 door Keith Davis. Door George Fincham & Sons is het orgel in 1966 herbouwd met nieuwe windladen. Laurie Pipe Organ voerde in 1986 een renovatie en uitbreiding uit. In 2009 is het orgel opnieuw gerestaureerd en uitgebreid, door Wakeley Pipe Organs.
- De kathedraal is gebouwd in gotische stijl en werd ontworpen door William Wardell. Het gebouw bleek echter niet stabiel, zodat het grotendeels is herbouwd volgens ontwerp van Henry Hunter. Alleen het koor met de straalkapellen zijn nog van de eerste kerk. Een eerste orgel werd gebouwd door James Eagles en werd gewijd op 27 mei 1851. Dit orgel is in 1895 overgeplaatst naar de Sacred Heart Church in New Town. Het bestaat niet meer.
