The organ in the Église Saint-Martin in Ath was built in 1911 by the brothers Slootmaekers. During the construction they used the organ case and some material from the previous organ of this church. The organ case was made in 1748 by Sébastien Lachapelle. The organ has been revised and modified several times, including by Pierre Van Peteghem (ca. 1776) and Lambert-Benoît Van Peteghem (1804). It was subsequently maintained by Merckaert, De Volder, Hermann and Schyven. In 1906, the Delmotte company submitted a plan for a renewal. This plan has not been implemented. The conversion was awarded to Slootmaekers in 1911. The old positive case was emptied. The new organ is not large: there are eight registers on two manuals and pedal. In 1986 the organ was restored by Georges Delmotte.
