1889 Edouard & Théophile Delmotte  orgue neuf
1924 Maurice Delmotte  restauration

  • Edouard and Théophile Delmotte built an organ in 1889 for the Église Saint-Lazare in Tournai. The church building was built in 1852-1853 and was designed by Simon Gahille. Near the church is the old chapel Saint-Lazare, which was built in the twelfth century. The location just outside the city was a place where lepers could be treated. The organ was restored in 1924 by Maurice Delmotte. On December 29, 1924 it was taken into use again with a recitale by Émile De Backer and Abel Debourle.
  • The stop list has been changed in subsequent years. On Grand Orgue, the Clairon 4' was replaced by a Plein Jeu, and the Trompette by a Douçaine. The Quintaton of the Récit was replaced by a Nasard 2 2/3'. According to information of Delmotte, there would also have been a Voix Humaine 8', which has been replaced by a Tierce. The Voix Humaine was not listed on the 1924 commissioning program.
  • The church building was taken over in early 2015 by the Greek Orthodox community in Tournai. The organ has remained on the gallery, but is no longer used.
