The organ in the Basilica of Saint Louis in Saint Louis, Missouri, was built in 1925 by the Wicks Organ Company, and expanded by the same firm in 1992. The organ case is older, possibly dating from 1838. In that year Matthias Schwab built an organ for the church. This organ was dedicated on September 30, 1838. It had 27 stops on two manuals and pedal (Great 14, Swell 9 and Pedal 4 stops). The new Wicks organ contained much older pipework. It was abandoned on June 14, 1925. The 1992 rebuild was radical. Not much material from 1838 and 1925 is left.
