In 1928, Henry Pilcher's Sons built a three-manual organ for the First United Methodist Church in Austin, Texas. It was opus 1439 of the firm. This instrument was replaced in 1969 by a new organ by Otto Hoffmann, taking over four registers from the old organ. The organ was rebuilt and modernized over time. But because of the malfunctioning of the mechanics, it was rebuilt and expanded in 2014-2015 by Roger A. Colby. A new console has been installed, the mechanical parts and electrical wiring have been completely renewed, and the organ has been expanded with a Bombarde 16'/8' on the pedal and a Harmonic Trumpet 16'/8'. Various digital stops have also been added. On May 31, 2015, the organ was put back into use with a concert by Ken Cowan.
