- In 1972 a new church building was inaugurated for the Hervormde Kerk (Dutch Reformed Church) in Eindhoven, which was given the name 'De Morgenster' (Morning Star). The address was Mercuriuslaan 1b. The organ was built by Fama & Raadgever. The prospect is decorated with carvings by Waldy Vastrick, inspired by the name of the church. The organ was dedicated in 1974.
- In 2008 it was announced that the church building will be divested. It has been put up for sale. As of September 1, 2008 the church was closed. On January 1st, 2012, the municipality 'Kruispunt' (Crosspoint) started using the building. This congregation is part of the Protestant Church, but is not tied to a neighborhood. Until 2012 they used the Hagenkamp Community House, Maria van Bourgondiëlaan 6, but this building had to be demolished.
- In 2014 the church was taken in use again by the PKN (Protestant Church of the Netherlands). The building was renamed Johanneskerk. The organ of Fama & Raadgever was replaced in 2016 by a larger instrument, that was bought from Meeden. It was sold and transferred by Sicco Steendam to Sanktuarium Miłosierdzia Bożego in Kalisz in 2016.
