- The oldest buildings of the Psychiatrisch Centrum Sint-Amandus (Psychiatric Center Sint-Amandus) in Beernem were built in 1853 for a re-education school for girls. The buldings were extended in 1876 and in 1898, when a new chapel was realised. The complex was sold to the 'Broeders van Liefde' (Brothers of Charity, Fratres Caritate) who founded a psychiatric clinic here, called the Sinte-Amandusgesticht.
- In 1934 a new organ was built for the chapel by a group of inhabitants. This instrument was dedicated on December 5th, 1934. After the official inauguration a concert was given by E.H. François from Bruges.
- It is almost certain that this organ does not exist anymore.
