  • In 1889 Charles Martin built a new organ for Paignton Parish Church. The instrument was donated to the church by Paris Singer. The organ case is particularly rich. The organ replaced a Henry Speechly instrument of 1877, which was transferred to Saint Andrew's Church in Paignton.
  • Martin's organ originally had 34 registers, three manuals and pedal. In 1896 he placed one more stop. The organ was also relocated from the gallery on the west side to an organ room on the southeast side of the nave. Forster & Andrews revised the work in 1906, adding three couplers. In 1930 the organ was converted to pneumatics by the firm Hele & Co.
  • The Willis company rebuilt the organ in 1967. The Choir Organ was converted by them into a Positif and the pedal was expanded. Geo. Osmond electrified the action in 1980. A few years later the organ was rebuilt by the company Deane Organ Builders, whereby many registers were replaced or added. This work took place in 1985/1986 and in 1998/1999.
