  • The organ in Christ Episcopal Church in Charlottesville is a historic instrument of the firm E. & G.G. Hook, built in 1869 for Grace Episcopal Church in Chicago. The organ has opus number 472 of this company. In 1902 it was transferred to Grace Episcopal Church in Oak Park, where it served until 1922. That year it was sold to the Third Congregational Church in Oak Park. Nicholas Doerr transferred it, but electrified the action. It has not served that long at this location either. Supposedly as early as 1937, it was sold again and transferred to Saint Ludmilla's Roman Catholic Church in Chicago.
  • In 1991 Saint Ludmilla's Church closed, after which the organ was dismantled and stored at the Andover Organ Company. They completed a restoration in the years 2007-2010 and installed the instrument in the church in Charlottesville in 2012. Much of the original organ has disappeared, such as the action, wind supply, organ case and console. Hook's pipework has been restored, and the disposition has been expanded, with the new material adapted to the style of the old.
