- De Basilica of the Assumption fo the Blessed Virgin Mary in Baltimore werd gebouwd in de jaren 1806-1821 naar ontwerp van Benjamin Henry Latrobe. Het gebouw geldt als de eerste rooms-katholieke kathedraal die in de Verenigde Staten werd gebouwd. Thomas Hall bouwde in 1817 een orgel voor de kerk, met drie klavieren en 36 stemmen. De kerk is in de jaren daarna nog vergroot. In 1884 bouwde Hilborne Roosevelt een nieuw orgel met 46 stemmen, waarbij de kas van Hall opnieuw is gebruikt.
- In 1989 is het orgel herbouwd door de firma Schantz. In 2006 voerde de firma Andover een revisie uit. Op 4 november 2006 werd het orgel opnieuw in gebruik genomen.
