The organ in the church of Saint-Maixent-l'Ecole was built in 1860 by the company Barker & Verschneider. The instrument has two manuals and pedal, with the Récit being an octave shorter than the Grand Orgue. The major octave is missing. In 1927, the Brun & Binetti company carried out a revision. The organ was subsequently restored twice more: in 1941 by Robert Boisseau and in 1977 by Jean Renaud.
