In 1852, Pierre Charles Van Peteghem and his son Max built a new organ for the St. Amandus church in Beernem. It has undergone major modifications over time. The original organ case has disappeared. Louis-Antoine Hooghuys worked on the organ in 1887, creating a new windchest for the Reciet. After a renovation of the church interior in the years 1900-1902, the organ was rebuilt by Aimé Hooghuys. The current arrangement dates from 1921. In that year, Jules Anneessens completely converted the instrument. It was given two separate sections, a new free-standing console and all the mechanics were renewed.
