The neo-Gothic church in Waasmunster-Ruiter was built in the years 1879-1881. Remarkable is the beautiful organ from 1726, built by Forceville. It was originally built for the Sint Laurentius church in Lokeren. The organ been altered in Lokeren, by members of the Van Peteghem and Delhaye family. It was placed in Ruiter by Charles Anneessens. The original positive organ (rugpositief) is relocated above the main organ. The organ case remained in Lokeren, where a new organ was constructed by Schyven. Anneessens made a new organ case for the church in Ruiter. The organ was restored in 1962 by Jos. Stevens.
