1999 Patrick J. Murphy26 restoration

  • In 1871, the Hook & Hastings firm built an organ for Chestnut Hill Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. It was later sold to Christ Lutheran Church in Camden, New Jersey. Here it served until the closure of the church building.
  • After a restoration by Patrick J. Murphy, the organ was moved to Auburn, Washington in 1999, where it was placed in the Episcopal Church of Saint Matthew. The missing Oboe 8' was re-installed during the restoration. For this an older register was used, made in 1884 by the Johnson & Son firm for the organ of Saint Michael's Episcopal Church in Birdsboro, PA.
