Saint Mary's Episcopal Church werd oorsronkelijk gebouwd als onderdeel van een grote kathedraal, de Cathedral Church of Christ voor het bisdom Philadelphia van de Episcopal Church. De bouw werd in de jaren dertig van de twintigste eeuw stilgelegd. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog is een nieuwe kathedraal op een andere plaats gebouwd. De reeds voltooide Lady Chapel werd nu gewijd als Saint Mary's Church. In 1999 is een nieuw orgel voor de kerk gebouwd door Patrick J. Murphy & Associates.
