Charles-Spackmann Barker and Charles Verschneider built an organ in 1863 for the Église Saint-Jean-des-Vignes in Chalon-sur-Saône. It was placed in the choir of the church. In 1920 it was transferred to the organ loft on the west side of the church. The organ was overhauled in 1952 by Michel-Merklin & Kühn and in 1954 by Athanase and Louis Dunand. Lucien Simon carried out a restoration in 1990.
