Ghislain Potvlieghe built a new organ for the parish church of Achel-Centrum in 1990-1991. The instrument was dedicated on April 14, 1991, after which Joost Vermeiren played the inauguration concert. During the construction, existing pipework was partly used, historical material from before 1910, which was present in the Vermeulen/Verschueren organ of the church. The new organ case was made by Theo Janssen.
The organ was later expanded by Jos Moors with a Trumpet 8' on the main work, a Dulcian 8' on the upper work and Octaaf 4' and Trumpet 8' on the pedal.
