- The organ in the parish church of Payerne was completed in October 1787. It was built by Johann Melchior Grob. The instrument survived without modifcations in the nineteenth century, but fell out of use in 1935 due to the bad condition in which it was in. Serious plans for the construction of an entirely new organ were canceled for financial reasons. Eventually the parish opted for a restoration. These works were carried out in 1942, but the organ was also expanded from 22 to 36 stops.
- As a result of the hot air heating, the organ fell out of use again in the 1970s. In the years 1989-1993 it was restored by Jürgen Ahrend and returned to its original state. The instrument was rededicated on October 2, 1993.
