In 1999 Jürgen Ahrend completed a new organ for the Payerne abbey church. It was the second Ahrend organ to have stood in the church. The previous was transferred to Lyon in 1996. The new organ was designed in Italian style, with the organ of the San Petronino in Bologna as an example.
