• Per Larsson Åkerman built a new organ in 1872 for the Landsförsamlings Kyrka in Skellefteå. It replaced an instrument by Peter Qvarnström from 1784. The new organ had 30 registers on two manuals and pedal. It was placed on the east side of the church. In 1915 it was moved by Åkerman & Lund to the west side. The disposition was expanded with two stops, and the action was converted to pneumatics.
  
• The organ was rebuilt in 1953-1954 by Mårtenssons Orgelfabrik. They built a large main organ with 59 registers, three manuals and pedal, and a small choir organ, which could also be played from the main organ. This choir organ was removed from the church in 1963 and was moved to the Församlingshem. In 1987 it was sold to the Tacksägelsekyrka in Landskrona. The main organ was overhauled in 1977 and expanded with a Kontrafagott 32' on the pedal and a fourth manual with seven stops. Furthermore, two registers were replaced: the Borduna 8' of the Huvudverk by a Flûte Harmonique 8', and the Kvintadena 2' of the Svällverk by a Voix Celeste 8'. The electro-pneumatic action was replaced by a full electric transmission.
  
• Around 2000 it was decided to have the organ rebuilt in the style of Åkerman. Part of the old pipe work from 1872 was still preserved in Mårtensson's instrument. This could be supplemented with pipes by Åkerman & Lund from 1885, originating from the organ of the Domkyrka in Växjö. The original windchests of this organ could also be taken over, because a reconstruction was carried out in Växjö to an older situation. The rebuilt organ in Skellefteå got 41 registers on three manuals and pedal. Manuals I and II are equipped with barker levers. The organ was built by Grönlunds Orgelbyggeri and has been inaugurated in 2008. Consultant was Jan H. Börjesson.
