Emile Poirier and Nicolas Lieberknecht built a new organ for the Notre-Dame-de-la-Daurade in Toulouse in 1861-1864. In the construction they used a lot of material from the previous organ of the church, which was built around 1780. The new organ was inaugurated on February 18, 1864 with a concert by Louis Léfebure-Wély. In 1888-1889 Puget carried out a revision, during which the organ was modernized. Adviser in this work was the church's organsit, Débat-Ponsan, who put the organ back into use on March 21, 1889. It was restored in the years 1990-1992 by the Boisseau-Cattiaux company. On October 3 and 4, 1992, the organ was put back into use with an organ festival. Four organists were involved in these festivities: Michel Bouvard, Jan-Willem Jansen, Jean Boyer and Philippe Lefèbure.
