The former organ of the Basilika in Trier was built in 1856 by the Gebr. Ibach from Barmen built with forty stops on three manuals and pedal. Fourteen stops were only prepared for, so that the plan for the organ was 54 stops. In 1913 the instrument was expanded to fifty registers by the Weigle company and fitted with pneumatic membrane chests. The organ was destroyed by bombing on August 14, 1944.
