  • In 1974/75 the Swisse company Kuhn built a large concert organ for the Alice Tully Hall at the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. Consultant was Edward Power Biggs. The organ case has been designed by Jakob Schmidt. The instrument was inaugurated on April 13 with a concert by Edward Power Biggs. The funds for the instrument were donated by Alice Tully, as were the fundings for the hall also. In 1984 she donated money for the placement of a Contrebombarde 32 'on the pedal.
  • Due to a renovation of the hall, the organ had to be dismantled and stored in 2006. It was re-installed by Kuhn in 2010. The intonation was partly revised. The old combination system with 32 options was replaced by a modern digital system with 9000 combinations. Kuhn also installed two digital stops on the pedal, a Soubasse 32 'and a Flûte 16'. The organ was re-openend on November 16, 2010 with a concert by Paul Jacobs.
