In 1733 Janez Janacek built a new organ above the entrance to the cathedral in Ljubljana. It was an instrument with 22 registers, placed in two Baroque organ cases. Except for the cases, this work was replaced in 1762 by a new Italian-style organ by Francišek Ksaver Krizman. This was again replaced in 1780/1781 by an organ by Janez Jurij Eisl, with 24 stops. The work was revised and modified several times. In 1860 Andrei Ferdinand Malahovsky expanded it by ten stops. Ultimately, the entire old interior was removed in 1911. In the years 1911/1912 Ivan Milavec built a modern organ with three manuals and 52 stops behind the historic prospect.
