Built by: Johann Andreas Engelhardt (1845)
In 1845, Johann Andreas Engelhardt completed a new organ for the Nicolaikirche in Herzberg am Harz. It is the largest instrument by this builder that has survived. Most of the original pipework is still present. The instrument was renovated in 1974-1975 by Rudolf Janke. Janke carried out a larger restoration in 1992. He renewed the Trompete of the Hauptwerk and of the Oberwerk, the Mixtur of the Oberwerk, the Untersatz 32' on the pedal, and partially the Mixtur of the Hauptwerk. The voicing of a number of stops was corrected. On September 6, 1992 the organ was put back into use. The official inaugural concert was played by Hans-Ulrich Funk.
