  • In 1725 Jean-Baptiste Forceville built a two-manual organ for the Sint Willibrordus church in Berchem. According to the contract it had twenty stops: twelve on the main organ (hoofdwerk) and eight on the positive. The church was rebuilt in 1823. Arnold Graindorge overhauled the organ and probably expanded it.
  • In 1956 the instrument was radically renovated by Jules Geurts. The instrument was provided with a free-standing console with pneumatic action. A. Philippo played the organ dedication on 13 May 1956. Around 1970 a new renovation started, carried out by the Merckaert company in collaboration with Jos Stevens under the advice of Flor Peeters. The intention was to expand the organ with a third manual. The stoplist was changed, the action was electrified and a new console was installed. However, a number of stops and the entire third manual were never placed. Twelve ranks of Forceville are still wholly or partly present. A restoration is urgently needed.
