De rooms-katholieke kerk van Saint Marie in Sheffield werd op 11 september 1850 ingewijd. T.C. Lewis bouwde in 1875 een drieklaviers orgel, dat vrijwel zonder wijzigingen bewaard is gebleven. In 1980 werd de kerk kathedraal van het nieuwe bisdom Hallam.
