1991 Klais Orgelbau1660 reconstruction

  • The organ of the Sankt Oswaldkirche in Regensburg is built by Franz Jacob Späth. It was officially inaugurated on December 27, 1750.
  • The instrument has been restored twice. First in 1955 by Paul Ott. During this restoration many original parts were replaced by new ones. The organ was adapted to the ideas of the time. The stop list was expanded with a number of new ranks.
  • A last restoration took place in 1991 and was carried out by Johannes Klais Orgelbau. The situation of 1750 has been reconstructed as good as possible. According to Klais's statement, there is no Quintitenens 16' in the Hauptwerk, because originally it did not have this register either. There is one unoccupied slide in the original concept, and this was therefore kept empty during the reconstruction.
