After the fire that completely destroyed the previous church building in 1994, including the large Walcker organ from 1953, a new Herz-Jesukirche was built in modern style in München-Neuhausen. The building is designed by the architectural firm Allmann, Sattler & Wappner. The new church is built in concrete with a lot of glass and has therefore been nicknamed 'Glass Cathedral'. The Church was dedicated on November 26, 2000. Gerald Woehl built a large three-manual organ for the church, which was completed in 2003. Consultant was Karl Maureen, who also is organist of the church. The organ has been dedicated on October 11, 2003.
