- In 1726, Abraham Jordan installed a new organ in a fine case in Saint Helen's Church, Abingdon. The old interior was replaced in 1780 by new organ by Byfield, England and Russell. They relocated the organ to the west side of the church. In 1849 it was moved again, this time to the south door in the nave of the church. William Hill rebuilt it in 1873 and placed it in a chapel on the south side of the chancel. The current organ was built by Harrison & Harrison in 1927, using the historic organ case and some old pipes.
- The organ was restored in 1971 by Hill, Norman & Beard. The disposition has been adjusted accordingly. In 2005, Harrison & Harrison undertook a restoration and disposition change. Pipework from 1907 was placed at this time, originating from a demolished Harrison & Harrison organ.
