  • The Lutherkirche in Plauen was built in the years 1693-1722. The building was named Bartholomäuskirche and was used as Gottesackerkirche, a church building for funerals. In 1833 the function changed and the name Lutherkirche was adopted. The old organ from the church was now sold, and Johann Gottlob Mende built a new instrument with 19 stops. It was put into use on August 24, 1834, on which occasion Johann Friedrich Fincke played the organ. The interior was demolished in 1925. It had earlier been modified in 1885 and 1901 and renovated in 1896.
  • The Jehmlich company now built a new organ behind the old front, which was adapted. The organ was put into use on October 10, 1926. It had 37 stops, divided over three manuals and pedal. In 1932 Jehmlich added seven more stops, five on the third manual and two on the pedal. After war damage, Jehmlich restored the instrument in 1948. In 1956 it was rebuilt and reduced to 29 stops. Finally, the organ was overhauled by Johannes Schubert in 1979.
  • In 2022-2023 Thomas Wolf built a new organ with 42 registers on three manuals and pedal. It was inaugurated on May 29, 2023 with a concert by Holger Gehring. The organ case of the previous organ was taken over, as were a number of stops by Jehmlich from 1926. The design of the organ was based on Mende's work.
