Built by: Vleugels Orgelmanufactur (2003)

  • In 2002/2003, the Vleugels company built a new organ with two manuals and pedal for the First Methodist Church in Seoul Chung Dong. The building was one of the first Protestant churches in Korea. In 1907 an American builder placed an organ that would be the first pipe organ in the country. This organ was lost in 1953 due to war acts. The new Vleugels organ was designed on the basis of an old photo of this organ. The facade and the arrangement in the church have been reconstructed. The new organ of Vleugels was put into use on September 21, 2003 with a concert by Yang-Hee Yun.
  • It is not known what happened to the Pels & Van Leeuwen organ from 1992, which was in the church.
