Year | Builder | Opus | Activity | 1806 | Andreas Hesse | new organ | 1906 | Wilhelm Sauer Orgelbau | 981 | new organ in old case | 1954 | Wilhelm Sauer Orgelbau | rebuild | 2001 | Christian Scheffler | reconstruction |
- In 1806 Andreas Hesse built a two-manual organ for the Marienkirche in Neuzelle. The interior of this organ was replaced in 1906 by a completely new pneumatic instrument from the company Sauer. This organ had a specification that was typical for the construction period.
- After World War II, Sauer was commissioned to overhaul the organ and to modernize the stop list. This meant that several original stops were replaced in order to obtain a more baroque sound character. The organ then slowly deteriorated.
- In the 1990s, plans were made for the construction of a new Baroque-style organ in the old organ case. Ultimately, however, it was decided to return Sauer's workpiece to its original state. This reconstruction was carried out in the years 1999-2001 by Christian Scheffler.
