- The Gustav-Adolf-Kirche in Charlottenburg was built in the years 1932-1934 to a design by Otto Bartning. Wilhelm Sauer supplied a large organ in 1934. The church was severely damaged by bombings in 1943 and 1944. The Sauer organ was lost. The church was rebuilt in its old state under the leadership of Bartning. In 1971/1972 the firm Kleuker built a new organ with 41 stops. It was dedicated on February 20, 1972.
- The instrument was revoiced in 1993, and the wind pressure was made higher. The company Mitteldeutscher Orgelbau A. Voigt carried out a renovation 2008. They restored the wind pressure to the original level. Consultant was Carl Haenisch. The organ was dedicated again on December 21, 2008, the fourth Sunday of Advent.
