Het orgel van de kathedraal van Belfort is gebouwd in 1752. Het werd in 1816 uitgebreid en in 1848 gerestaureerd en tevens gewijzigd. Als gevolg van stormschade in 1966 was een restauratie noodzakelijk. Deze werd uitgevoerd door de firma Schwenkedel en op 7 mei 1971 afgesloten met een ingebruiknameconcert door Michel Chapuis.
