- In December 1859 the Slotskirke of Frederiksborg burned down completely. The Renaissance organ from 1617 was lost as a result. After the chapel was rebuilt, Marcussen built a new organ in 1863-1864 behind a copy of the old front. In 1944-1946 the instrument was converted and expanded by Frobenius.
- In 1972 it was decided to build another organ behind the front, which would better match the front. Because Marcussen's work was also historic, it was rebuilt behind a blank wall, in which a framework. It is right behind the new Andersen organ.
