The organ contains older material: Organ case and prospect from 1803 by Johann Conrad Bürgy
In 1803 Johann Conrad Bürgy built a new organ for the Untere Stadtkirche in Wetzlar. The interior of the organ case was replaced in 1930 by a new instrument from the Walcker company. In 1989 Jürgen Ahrend completed a new mechanical instrument, the specification of which is inspired by Bürgy's original work.
